Self-Care+: Everyday Wellbeing, Built into University Life

University life comes with excitement, challenges, and everything in between. Self-Care+ is NUS's way of making sure every student, not just those who seek it out, has the basic tools to look after themselves and each other along the way.

What is Self-Care+?

Self-Care+ extends the everyday idea of self-care by recognising that well-being isn’t just personal; it's relational too. While you need skills to manage stress and regulate your emotions, you also benefit from knowing how to notice when a friend is struggling, respond with care, and point them toward the right support.

Self-Care+ isn't a course you need to enroll in, or a badge you need to earn. It's delivered in short, accessible segments woven into things you're already doing such as briefings, workshops, and residential activities. It is done in a way so that building these habits feels natural, not like a chore.

The Three Dimensions of Self-Care+

Self-Awareness
Recognise your emotions, stressors, and coping habits. Self-Care+ encourages regular check-ins to help you understand what your mind and body need.

Self-Care
From stress management to help-seeking, this dimension builds the everyday competencies that keep your wellbeing on track by guiding you to find what works for you and put it into practice.

Community Care
Wellbeing isn't a solo project. This dimension covers the small, supportive behaviours like noticing, listening, and checking in, all of which make NUS a place where people look out for one another.

Where You’ll Encounter Self-Care+

Self-Care+ is designed to reach you without adding another item to your to-do list. You’ll encounter it at different points throughout your NUS journey, from orientation to everyday campus and residential life.
