Overview
Wellbeing is more than simply feeling good. It is about finding balance, building resilience and developing healthy practices that help us navigate everyday life.
Join us for an afternoon of practical insights and conversations on self-care, peer support and building stronger connections on campus.
Opening Seminar: "Care for Self, Care for Others" (Free with registration)
Through professional insights, practical strategies and lived experiences, the seminar explores how to support a friend without becoming their “therapist”, navigate loneliness, practise healthy boundaries, recognise when additional help may be needed, and stay grounded through self-care.
Come away with practical ways to care for yourself, connect meaningfully with others, and play a part in creating a more supportive NUS community.
Resource Fair (Free, no registration required)
While you are here, have a chat with friendly health and wellbeing professionals from NUS and our community partners and explore practical strategies you can incorporate into your daily routine. Discover the on- and off-campus resources and support available to you and those around you.
Topic 1: Positive Peer Support & Self-Care
Ever been unsure what to say when a friend or someone you care about is having a tough time, or found yourself wanting to be there for them while also figuring out how to take care of yourself?
Join ResiL!ence, your friendly community youth mental health service at SHINE Children & Youth Services, for a talk on positive peer support and self-care. Learn ways to support your friends, set healthy boundaries, recognise when someone may need more help, and find out where you can turn to for support.

Topic 4: How Friends Can Support Friends Without Becoming “Therapists”
When a friend is going through a difficult time, we may want to help but not know what to say or do. This sharing by Siti Aisha, a Medical Social Worker at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, explores practical ways to listen, show empathy, have supportive conversations, and encourage early help-seeking. It will also cover healthy boundaries and recognising when a friend may need support beyond what we can provide. Ultimately, being there for a friend is not about having all the answers, but about helping them feel heard, supported and less alone.
