Student Life Awards (SLA)
Athlete of the Year (Distinction)
The Athlete of the Year Award recognises student athletes for an exceptional level of commitment and contribution toward bringing glory to NUS in their respective sports. Individuals may be part of a team.
Athlete of the Year (Merit)
The Athlete of the Year Award recognises student athletes for a commendable level of commitment and contribution toward bringing glory to NUS in their respective sports. Individuals may be part of a team.
Campus Choice (Individual)
The Campus Choice (Individual) was presented to the individual that had garnered the highest number of votes from the NUS Community amongst all other individual nominees for each year’s NUS Student Life Awards. All nominees for Campus Choice (Individual) were also recipients of one of the other award categories of Student Life Awards.
Campus Choice (Group)
The Campus Choice (Group) was presented to the project/team that garnered the highest number of votes from the NUS Community amongst all other project/team nominees for each year’s NUS Student Life Awards. All nominees for Campus Choice (Group) were also recipients of one of the other award categories of Student Life Awards.
Campus Vibrancy
The Campus Vibrancy recognition was presented to projects that had been carefully selected by a panel of assessors. These large-scale projects and events had distinguished themselves through their outstanding contribution to campus vibrancy and community bonding, bringing multiple student organisations across faculties together.
Community Engagement (Distinction)
The Community Engagement (Distinction) is awarded to Arts and Culture / Sports and Wellness projects that have made a significant positive impact on campus vibrancy, community bonding, promotion of social integration, and/or educational outreach within NUS.
Community Engagement (Merit)
The Community Engagement (Merit) is awarded to Arts and Culture / Sports and Wellness projects that have made commendable efforts to increase campus vibrancy, community bonding, promotion of social integration, and/or educational outreach within NUS.
Community Service (Distinction)
The Community Service (Distinction) is awarded to projects held locally or overseas that have strongly promoted volunteerism and had a significant positive impact on campus community welfare, the underprivileged, other external community, the environment and/ or animal welfare. The awarded project was able to recruit up to 100 volunteers, of which more than 60% are NUS students.
Community Service (Merit)
The Community Service (Merit) is awarded to projects held locally or overseas that have promoted volunteerism and had a positive impact on campus community welfare, the underprivileged, other external community, the environment and/ or animal welfare. The project was able to recruit up to 100 volunteers, with NUS students accounting for 10% to 60% of this volunteer pool.
Competitions (Non-Sports) (Distinction)
This award recognises individuals or teams who have excelled in representing NUS in international, regional and/or national level competitions.
Competitions (Non-Sports) (Merit)
This award recognises individuals or teams who have obtained commendable results in representing NUS in international, regional and/or national level competitions.
Leadership (Distinction)
The Leadership (Distinction) is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exemplary and effective leadership in a key position in their student organisation or project team. They have initiated changes that had made a significant impact on NUS and the external community.
Leadership (Merit)
The Leadership (Merit) is awarded to individuals who have made a commendable effort in leading and guiding their teams to achieve their goals.
NUS President Sports (Individual)
The NUS President Sports Individual Award recognises individual student athletes who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and contributions in bringing glory to NUS for at least three academic years.
NUS President Sports (Team)
The NUS President Sports Team Award recognises teams who have demonstrated high performance and achievements consistently for at least three consecutive academic years.
Sports Team of the Year (Events) (Distinction)
The Sports Team of the Year Award (Events) recognises a group of individuals that demonstrated exceptional performance and achievement in relevant events (e.g. badminton doubles, swimming relay team etc.)
Sports Team of the Year (Events) (Merit)
The Sports Team of the Year Award (Events) recognises a group of individuals that demonstration high performance and achievement in relevant events (e.g. badminton doubles, swimming relay team etc.).
Sports Team of the Year (Individual Sports) (Distinction)
The Sports Team of the Year Award (Individual Sports) recognises teams that demonstrated exceptional performance and achievement in an individual sport (e.g. archery, wushu etc.)
Sports Team of the Year (Individual Sports) (Merit)
The Sports Team of the Year Award (Individual Sports) recognises teams that demonstrated high performance and achievement in an individual sport (e.g. archery, wushu etc.).
Sports Team of the Year (Team Sports) (Distinction)
The Sports Team of the Year Award (Team Sports) recognises teams that demonstrated exceptional performance and achievement in a team sport e.g. basketball, water polo etc.
Sports Team of the Year (Team Sports) (Merit)
The Sports Team of the Year Award (Team Sports) recognises teams that demonstrated high performance and achievement in a team sport e.g. basketball, water polo etc.
Sportsman of the Year (Distinction)
The Sportsman of the Year Award recognises male student athletes who demonstrated exceptional commitment and contributions in bringing glory to NUS in their respective sports. Individuals may be part of a team.
Sportsman of the Year (Merit)
The Sportsman of the Year Award recognises male student athletes for a commendable level of commitment and contribution toward bringing glory to NUS in their respective sports. Individuals may be part of a team.
Sportswoman of the Year (Distinction)
The Sportsman of the Year Award recognises female student athletes who demonstrated exceptional commitment and contributions in bringing glory to NUS in their respective sports. Individuals may be part of a team.
Sportswoman of the Year (Merit)
