What to Expect

Join us for a month of celebrating the arts! Organised around the theme of supermARTket, Artober 2026 invites everyone to participate in a diversity of art forms and discover the ways in which they can bring freshness and vibrancy to our lives. In collaboration with different societies and interest groups, Artober 2026 offers different arts-based workshops and events for the duration of October, located in NUS College.

Visual Arts

Artober Opening: Got This in the Bag | 1 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Saga Buttery
Bring your old tote bags and old fabric pieces to upcycle into your unique grocery bags. They will come in handy for the rest of the Artober events.

Anyone Can Make Zine | 6 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Saga Commons
Inspired by zines like The Vegetable by Shannon Ng, you will get to participate in a zine-making session with prompts about peoples’ relationship with food.

Watercolour and Waves | 7 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Elm Classroom
Marine-themed art workshop where you will draw and paint with watercolours while connecting with others who share an interest in art, nature and marine conservation.

NUSG's Pins & Zines | 8 Oct 2026 | Saga Buttery
You will get to decorate your own badge pins with drawings and food-themed stickers, as well as make zines with the art materials provided.

Clown Eggs and You | 9 Oct 2026, 6pm - 10pm | Elm Buttery
Painting workshop where you are encouraged to design and paint clown faces onto plastic eggs, offering a fun and light-hearted way to destress.

Sticker Shopping | 13 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Elm Buttery
Create your own junk journals with supermarket-themed stickers and everyday paper waste!

Bloom in a Box | 14 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Elm Buttery
Get your hands dirty and learn how to use stamping tools to imprint letters onto metal pendants, creating personalised accessories or keychains.

Spindle Spun | 15 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Saga Commons
Learn how to spin yarn from wool using a turkish drop spindle.

Arttero’s Cereal-sly Good Boxes | 16 Oct 2026, 6pm - 8pm | Elm Buttery
Bring your own empty cereal boxes to decorate and upcycle into something useful (surprise).

Clay Keychains and Trinkets | 26 Oct 2926, 4pm - 6pm | Saga Commons
Keychains & Trinkets is a beginner-friendly craft workshop where you will learn how to work with air-dry stone clay to create your own personalised keychain or small trinket.

Bind a Journal | 26 Oct 2026, 7pm - 9pm | Elm Buttery
You will learn the basics of bookbinding and create their own pocket-sized A6 journals.

Artober Closing: Shrinky D(r)inks 2.0 | 29 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Saga Buttery
VAS will be hosting a shrink charm making workshop while BrewCaff will be serving drinks, concept of an art jam cafe. An Artober 2026 merchandise collection booth will also be set up.

Performing Arts

mARTprov | 5 Oct 2026, 730pm - 9pm | Tan Chin Tuan Lecture Theatre
A fun and energetic showcase of short-form improvisational comedy, featuring a series of quick, spontaneous improv games, bringing performers and audience members together

NUSCaraoke Artober Events | 7 Oct 2026, 8pm - 10pm | Elm Commons
Get a unique music shopping list and complete all the tasks listed. Stand a chance to redeem a prize of your choice (surprise). 

Vibe! Open Class | 20 Oct, 8pm - 10pm | Practice Room 6
Join an open class choreographed by NUSC Vibe! All are welcome!

Sofasogood | 23 Oct, 8pm - 10pm | Elm/Saga Courtyards
Sofasogood is a continuation of the YNC initiative of the same name. Sofasogood was a fortnightly open mic, a platform to encourage the community to share their original music or perform covers as well.

Pressed Harvest Workshop | 2 Oct 2026, 5pm - 6pm | Elm Buttery
The Farming Collective will hold a pressed plant workshop using specimens from the NUSC rooftop farms that they manage.

Documentary Screening | 14 Oct 2026, 730pm - 930pm | Saga Commons
Catch a documentary screening by Impact Experience (IEx) Sabah team where they share their findings.

Fresh from the Garden | 15 Oct 2026, 5pm - 7pm | Saga Courtyard
Outdoor sketching and poetry workshop, where you can sit and enjoy the nature around them, draw what you see, and write poems inspired by the emotions and memories evoked by your own experience.

Please the Palate! | 21 Oct 2026, 12pm - 2pm | Cendana Buttery
Come experiment making and tasting your own vegan food and the health benefits it entails.

Real-Tasty TTRPGS | 22 Oct 2026, 730pm - 10pm | Saga Buttery
The one and only food-themed Tabletop Roleplaying Games with snacks and drinks related to each game. Come and play with us!
