third space: Four Blank walls: Experiments in Sound

Four Blank Walls: Experiments in Sound (Edition 3)

We are excited to announce the return of Four Blank Walls: Experiments in Sound, now in its third edition.

Under the continued guidance of sound designer and electronic sound artist Syafiq Halid, four new NUS students have embarked on an eight-week collaborative process to push the boundaries of their individual music practice.

The third edition of Four Blank Walls: Experiments in Sound takes a transformative turn, shifting its focus from collaborative works to a more introspective exploration of individual artistic voices. This edition invites students to delve deep into their personal narratives, questioning their artistic identities and dissecting the elements that define their forms of expression.

Through a series of curated sound pieces, this production will showcase the diverse and compelling perspectives of NUS’ emerging artists.

We are also bringing Four Blank Walls outdoors for the first time, presenting the showcase as a site-specific work at University Town Education Resource Centre, against the backdrop of two mature Tembusu trees.

This edition features Syafiq Halid as facilitator and main collaborator, along with students Lakshmanan G, Jaanavi Anand, Le Tu Quoc Dat, and Muhammad Mahathir Bin Norrahim.

Entry is free, and all are welcome to this showcase!
