Connecting Communities and Culture

"We need not and should not sacrifice or dilute our respective cultures in order to deepen multiculturalism. If we do that, we will just be weakening our heartbeats. But neither should we live in separate cultural spheres in order to keep our distinctive cultures alive and strong. We must foster that criss-crossing, so each of our cultures evolves whilst absorbing influences from others, the influences that come from a multicultural Singapore environment.”
– President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Spring Reception 2024
Building bonds of trust that connect across ethnic, social and cultural differences requires collaborative and continuous efforts of the community. The CEN was introduced in 2015 to connect various cultural and religious student groups in NUS, and strengthen ties amongst the diverse communities. The network provides opportunities for students of different backgrounds to come together and understand one another. More importantly, the interaction builds relationships and students learn from the rich diversity in society. There are 20 student groups in the Network.
Let’s celebrate, learn and appreciate diversity on campus.
mOSAic@NUS brings together individuals and communities from various backgrounds in the NUS community to learn, celebrate and appreciate the diversity among us.

Connect with local and international peers through engaging events and activities.
