Scholarship (Mid-Term)

Application Period for AY25/26: 9 June 2025 (9:00am) to 25 June 2025 (6:00pm)
The NUS Community Impact Scholarship is awarded to NUS undergraduates who exhibit exceptional leadership qualities in the areas of Community Service and/or Environmental Sustainability, and are committed to active and meaningful contributions to community service initiatives.
- Current student pursuing a full-time undergraduate programme at NUS, excluding Music
- Not graduating in the upcoming semester (AY25/26 Sem 1)
- Singapore Citizen
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 or Top 80% percentile of their cohort (for Medicine, Dentistry and Law) and maintain it throughout their scholarship
- Have strong leadership qualities and potential in the areas of Community Service and/or Environmental Sustainability
- Committed to active and meaningful contributions to community service initiatives
- Must not have any disciplinary records with the NUS Board of Discipline
- Subsidised tuition fees (after MOE Tuition Grant subsidy)
- S$6,000 annual living allowance
- S$4,700 annual accommodation allowance if scholar is staying on campus (including University Town). Scholars who enjoy partial/full on-campus accommodation fee waiver are not allowed to concurrently hold the scholarship accommodation allowance
- Bond-free scholarship
1. The Mid-term Community Impact Scholarship is awarded to NUS students pursuing a full-time undergraduate programme at NUS, excluding Music, and is tenable for the normal candidature period. The scholarship may be transferred to all programmes except Music.
2. Scholarship recipients are required to:
a. Display dedication to the betterment of self through OSA community service-related training and development, and
b. Lead and organise at least one of the following per academic year:
i. Local community service activity, either individually or as part of a group, or
ii. NUS-wide community service event/activity in collaboration with the NUS Office of Student Affairs such as the Community Service Festival. This includes actively promoting community engagement and sustainability within NUS and across other NUS entities, and
c. Represent NUS in local and/or overseas platforms, such as National Dialogues, Community Service-related summits, and other relevant engagements to contribute insights, exchange best practices, and advocate for community service initiatives.
d. Attend at least one OSA scholarship-related event per academic year
i. Welcome Tea
ii. Dialogue and engagement sssion
iii. NUS Achievement Awards
iv. Leadership programmes organised/coordinated by OSA
3. Scholarship recipients may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, bursary, grant, award or allowance without prior approval from the University,
4. If the scholarship recipient decides to withdraw from the University and/or terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose the repayment of all scholarship monies disbursed to the scholar.
5. The scholarship will be monitored and renewed every semester (within the scholarship term) provided the scholarship recipient commits to their workplan, continues to meet the criteria of the scholarship and maintains a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.5 or Top 80% percentile of their cohort (for Medicine, Dentistry and Law), and has good conduct.

- Applicants will be assessed on their suitability for the scholarship, based on the strength of their applications and/or their performance in the scholarship selection interview(s), if shortlisted.
- Applicants shortlisted for the selection interview(s) will be informed via e-mail and will be required to attend an in-person interview on 14 or 16 July 2025.
- NUS reserves the right not to award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.

- Personal Statement (no more than 800 words) which demonstrates relevance to the Community Impact Scholarship. The personal statement provides an opportunity for you to showcase your motivations, aspirations, self-reflection, personality, and personal ethos, while highlighting your potential as a scholarship recipient.
Please include one referee report in your submission. Your referee should submit their report separately via this link by 25 June 2025.
Note that applications without a referee report will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.
