5 reasons why students can’t get enough of Student Life Fair

Didn’t get a chance to visit all 170 booths at the Student Life Fair (SLF) at UTown, 11-12 Aug 2022? We recount the highlights, event details and more.

1. Freebies galore to kickstart your fresh Semester

Close to 8,000 goodie bags filled with vouchers, self-care products and sweet treats were given away at SLF. It’s the ultimate package to set you up with to hit the ground running in and outside of the classroom. Students tell us that the eco-cutlery set, drinks and acne treatment cream were the more popular items.

Students went on a “shopping spree” for CCAs!  More than 140 student organisations set up their booths and seniors welcomed freshmen with open arms.

Muhd Amirul Hakim Mohd Helmy, member of NUS Silat and a Year 2, College of Design and Engineering enthusiastically declared, “It’s more than just a CCA, it’s more of a family!”

3. For the students by the students

What did the organisers think of their event? Heather Pang, Year 2, NUS Business School, who helmed the role as Project Director of SLF 2022 Organising Committee, spills the beans.

We came back stronger than ever before since COVID-19 and it warmed my heart witnessing students enjoying the SLF experience with welfare bags in toe and visiting the student org booths. I’m grateful to have a solid committee.

The most challenging part of planning SLF'22 was planning an event that I’ve never been to physically as it was carried out online during my freshmen year. I wanted to exceed expectations and push hard for all students to make this year’s SLF the best one yet!"
