Teach Singapore
Impacting Lives through Education
What We Do
Teach Singapore (Teach SG) is an NUS initiative that aims to promote social mobility and inclusiveness, where NUS students volunteer to mentor children and youth from disadvantaged families. Teach Singapore provides access to positive role models and enhances learning opportunities through a holistic slate of activities such as visits to museums, exposure to sports and the arts, and life skills such as time management and data literacy.

The digital badge is a testament for mentors’ active participation in the mentoring sessions, and have acquired mentoring skills as a Teach SG mentor. The digital badge will be issued at the end of each academic semester and can be added to LinkedIn.
Is there a possibility that my application will be unsuccessful?
Yes, as all the mentoring projects have limited vacancies. You can still apply to other mentoring projects after an unsuccessful application.
Will I be able to choose a mentoring slot that is convenient for me?
Yes, you will be able to view the schedule of all the available mentoring projects on NUSync, and apply for one that fits your schedule.
When will the 10 to 12-week duration of mentorship span across?
It will typically span across one NUS academic semester.
Is volunteering for Teach SG as an individual/student group the same as signing up for the GEN2050 course?
No, projects eligible for GEN2050X and GEN2050Y are different from the Teach SG projects listed on NUSync.
