Post-Event Reports and Review
What’s the Value of a Post-Event Report?
As an Institute of Higher Learning, we believe that the learning process is ongoing. A well-implemented event may have enjoyed a healthy attendance count, smooth-sailing logistics, encouraging participant feedback, and some form of learning should have emerged from the experience, for both attendees and organisers.
As event organisers, engaging in post-event reflection is crucial to the learning experience. Beyond that, compiling and summarising what went well, what can be improved on, and what was learnt would be beneficial to student leaders that will come after you, contributing to the sustainability of your student organisation. These reports are valuable insights to develop future events and introduce "best practices" in your student organisation.
When writing your post-event report, summarise:
- Learning Points: What well went; what were key challenges; what are key recommendations
- Reflections: How was the vision and mission of the student organisation met through this event; How was the goal of the event itself met? What was the impact of the event on yourself, the NUS community, and the broader community (if any)?
You may tailor the post-event report template to cater to your event – feel free to add or remove information that is relevant to your event analysis.
